Put an appointment in the calendar

Use an online calendar: create an appointment with a reminder.

7 steps · about 3 minutes · practice it with SafePC Pro

Step by step

  1. Click the Start button! Look at the bottom of this practice computer: the dark strip there is its taskbar. In the middle of it, click the Start button (four blue squares). The main menu opens just above it. If you see two taskbars, use the one inside this page.
  2. Click "Browser". In the menu that opened, click the "Browser" tile (a square with a small picture and its name under it): the app opens in its own window.
  3. Go to calendar.practice.example. Type "calendar.practice.example" in the address bar then Enter: you land on Practice Calendar.
  4. Click "+ Create". At the top left, click "+ Create".
  5. Give it a title. The form of your new appointment is open. Click in the big "Add title" line at the top and type what the appointment is, for example "Haircut".
  6. Check the time, pick a reminder, save. Under the title, the date and the times are already filled in (for example today, from 9:00 to 10:00). To change one, click it and type. Then, next to the bell 🔔, open the list "30 minutes before" and choose when you want to be reminded, for example "1 hour before". Last, click the blue "Save" button at the bottom right.
  7. Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "Browser" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.

These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
