Adjust the sound

Turn the computer's sound up, down and off.

4 steps · about 2 minutes · practice it with SafePC Pro

Step by step

  1. Click the Wi-Fi / sound icons, at the bottom right. At the very bottom right of the screen, just left of the date and time, there are two small icons: the Wi-Fi waves and a speaker. Click on them (they work as one button): a panel called "Quick settings" opens above them.
  2. Drag the volume slider. In the Quick settings panel, the sound control is the long line at the bottom, with a round knob on it. Hold the mouse button down on the knob and drag it left or right, then let go: the number at the right end of the line changes with the volume.
  3. Mute the sound. Click the small speaker icon at the left end of the volume line: the sound is turned off (muted) and the number at the right end shows 0.
  4. Turn the sound back on. Click the same speaker icon again, at the left end of the volume line: the sound comes back and the number goes up again.

These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
