Tour of the Accessibility settings

Tour of the Accessibility settings: a short lesson in 8 steps.

8 steps · about 3 minutes · practice it with SafePhone Pro

Step by step

  1. Open "Settings" (the gear).
  2. Scroll down and tap "Accessibility": everything that makes the phone easier to see, hear and use is here.
  3. Tap "Display size and text": bigger text, bigger buttons, bold text.
  4. Just looking for now. Back: swipe from the left edge of the screen toward the middle (or press Esc).
  5. Tap "Magnification": a magnifying glass for the whole screen.
  6. Go back again. Back: swipe from the left edge of the screen toward the middle (or press Esc).
  7. Tap "Screen reader": the phone reads aloud what you touch. It has its own lessons.
  8. Go back one last time. Below, you can also find captions, flash notifications and hearing aids. Back: swipe from the left edge of the screen toward the middle (or press Esc).

These steps are written for SafePhone, a pretend Android-style smartphone in your web browser. On your own smartphone, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePhone works like a real smartphone, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
