Widgets: weather and news

Check the weather and read a news story from the Widgets button on the taskbar.

3 steps · about 2 minutes · practice it with SafePC Pro

Step by step

  1. Click the weather, at the bottom left. Look at the very bottom left corner of the screen, on the taskbar (the dark strip at the bottom): there is a small weather picture with a temperature and a word such as "Sunny". Click it: the Widgets panel opens, a big dark board with the weather and the news.
  2. Click a news story. In the panel, the "Weather" box shows today's weather and the next few days. Look at it, then click one of the news cards (each has a headline): the Browser opens with the results about that story.
  3. Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "Browser" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.

These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
