Sign in with a code

Many sites send a 6-digit code by email after your password: find it and type it.

10 steps · about 4 minutes · practice it with SafePC Pro

Step by step

  1. Click the Start button! Look at the bottom of this practice computer: the dark strip there is its taskbar. In the middle of it, click the Start button (four blue squares). The main menu opens just above it. If you see two taskbars, use the one inside this page.
  2. Click "Browser". In the menu that opened, click the "Browser" tile (a square with a small picture and its name under it): the app opens in its own window.
  3. Go to . Click in the address bar at the top, type and press Enter. It is a practice shop website: it sells nothing.
  4. Type the password. Click in the "Password" box and type the practice password: (it is also written on the page). The letters show as dots: that is normal.
  5. Click "Sign in". Click the "Sign in" button (or press Enter).
  6. Open your email. The site sent a code to your email. Click "📧 Open my email in a new tab".
  7. Open the message from Corner Market. Click the newest message, "Your Corner Market sign-in code" (wait a few seconds if it is not there yet), and read the 6-digit code.
  8. Go back to the Corner Market tab. At the top of the Browser, click the first tab, the one of Corner Market.
  9. Type the code, then "Verify". Click in the "Code" box, type the 6 digits from the email (the space in the middle does not matter), then click "Verify".
  10. Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "Browser" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.

These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
