SafePC · Codes and passwords
Reset a forgotten password
Forgot your password? Get a code by email and choose a new, strong one.
Step by step
- Click the Start button! Look at the bottom of this practice computer: the dark strip there is its taskbar. In the middle of it, click the Start button (four blue squares). The main menu opens just above it. If you see two taskbars, use the one inside this page.
- Click "Browser". In the menu that opened, click the "Browser" tile (a square with a small picture and its name under it): the app opens in its own window.
- Go to . Click in the address bar at the top, type and press Enter. It is a practice shop website: it sells nothing.
- Click "Forgot password?". Under the password box, click "Forgot password?".
- Click "Send me a code". Your email is already filled in. Click "Send me a code".
- Open your email. The site sent a code to your email. Click "📧 Open my email in a new tab".
- Open the message from Corner Market. Click the newest message, "Reset your Corner Market password" (wait a few seconds if it is not there yet), and read the 6-digit code.
- Go back to the Corner Market tab. At the top of the Browser, click the first tab, the one of Corner Market.
- Type the code, then "Continue". Click in the "Code" box, type the 6 digits from the email, then click "Continue".
- Choose a strong new password. Type a long password you will remember: three words and a number, for example Garden-Piano-Cloud-7. The bar turns green when it is strong. Then click "Save my new password".
- Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "Browser" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.
These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.
Practice it where nothing can break
SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
