Get an item back from the Recycle Bin
Deleted a file by mistake? It is in the Recycle Bin: restore it in one click.
Step by step
- Double-click the "Recycle Bin". The Recycle Bin is the icon with a trash can, at the top left of the desktop. Double-click it (press the left button twice, quickly): File Explorer opens and shows the items you deleted.
- Click "Restore all items". In the row of buttons at the top of the File Explorer window, click "Restore all items" (the button at the far right of the row, with a circular arrow): each deleted item goes back to the folder it was deleted from, and the Recycle Bin list becomes empty.
- Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "File Explorer" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.
These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.
Practice it where nothing can break
SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
