Print an email

Open an email and print it, with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + P.

8 steps · about 3 minutes · practice it with SafePC Pro

Step by step

  1. Click the Start button! Look at the bottom of this practice computer: the dark strip there is its taskbar. In the middle of it, click the Start button (four blue squares). The main menu opens just above it. If you see two taskbars, use the one inside this page.
  2. Click "Browser". In the menu that opened, click the "Browser" tile (a square with a small picture and its name under it): the app opens in its own window.
  3. Open "Practice Mail". On the favorites bar, under the address bar, click "Practice Mail".
  4. Open the HealthBook message. Click the message "Your appointment is confirmed" from HealthBook.
  5. Print: Ctrl + P. Press Ctrl + P (hold Ctrl and press P): the Print window opens. (Also in the "…" menu at the top right › Print.)
  6. Check the printer. Look at the "Printer" list: "Home printer (practice)" is chosen. Then look at the preview on the left: this is what will be printed.
  7. Click "Print". Click the blue "Print" button. This is a practice printer: the pages "come out" in a notification at the bottom right.
  8. Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "Browser" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.

These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
