Lists, round buttons and check boxes

Choose one answer with round buttons, type a phone number, tick a box.

9 steps · about 4 minutes · practice it with SafePC Pro

Step by step

  1. Click the Start button! Look at the bottom of this practice computer: the dark strip there is its taskbar. In the middle of it, click the Start button (four blue squares). The main menu opens just above it. If you see two taskbars, use the one inside this page.
  2. Click "Browser". In the menu that opened, click the "Browser" tile (a square with a small picture and its name under it): the app opens in its own window.
  3. Go to cityservices.example. Click in the address bar at the top, type cityservices.example and press Enter. It is a practice city website, like the one of a town hall.
  4. Click "Continue my application". Your application was started earlier and saved: click "Continue my application" to go on where you stopped.
  5. Choose "By phone". Under "How should we contact you?", click the round button "By phone".
  6. Type the phone number. In "Phone number" type .
  7. Tick the box for reminders. Click the square box "Send me text reminders…": a check mark appears. Square boxes can be ticked or not, independently.
  8. Click "Next". Click "Next" to go to step 3.
  9. Close this window. You are done with this window, so close it: click the ✕ button at the top right corner of the "Browser" window (on its title bar, the strip at the top). The window disappears.

These steps are written for SafePC, a pretend Windows-style computer in your web browser. On your own computer, the buttons and menus may look a little different, but the idea is the same.

Practice it where nothing can break

SafePC works like a real computer, but nothing you do goes anywhere. Try every button, make mistakes and start again.
