Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your TryTechSafe account and your data. TryTechSafe, with its practice phone SafePhone and its practice computer SafePC, is published by JBD Co.
How to delete your account
- Go to My account on trytechsafe.com and sign in.
- At the bottom, open Delete my account.
- Type your password, tick the box, and press Delete my account forever.
In the SafePhone app, Settings › Passwords & accounts › Delete my account brings you here.
In SafePC's Mac style, Settings › Users & Accounts › Delete my account brings you here (open Settings from the gear in the Dock, or from the logo menu at the top left).
Can't sign in? Email [email protected] from the email address of your account and ask us to delete it. We do it within 30 days and write back when it's done.
What is deleted
- At once: your account (name, email, password), your plan details, your progress and certificates, your weekly reminders, the private links you shared with a helper, and the newsletter, "email me the link" and waiting-list entries for your email.
- Within 30 days: your practice files and settings on the SafePhone and SafePC servers.
- Your paid plan, if you have one, is cancelled at once and you won't be charged again. Payments already made are not refunded, except as our Terms say: if you want a refund, write to us before you delete your account.
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment records (invoices and payments): 10 years, as French accounting law requires. They are held by our payment provider, Stripe.
- A gift's purchase record, if you bought or redeemed a gift: kept with the payment records, without your account.
- Security records (sign-in attempts, technical logs): a few weeks at most.
- For 45 days, your account number and a scrambled code made from your email (it can't be turned back into your address), only so our practice servers can find and delete your files.
- Daily counts with nothing about you (for example "3 people finished a lesson today") stay, because they are not personal data.
